A mother of three children, ranging in age from 9 to 21, Daphne has worked for 9 years at Ford in Rawsonville, Michigan and is a member of UAW Local 898.

Daphne is also involved with several community initiatives, including Daughters of Destiny, Women Safe House Project, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Community Clean Program. She is also the spokesperson for the Hairless Association, which provides assistance to cancer patients, a cheerleader and etiquette coach, and the first African-American to win the national pageant for Ms. Galaxy for Michigan.

“Look at the letters, UAW,” says Daphne. “It’s unity, unique…all working…all wonderful. It’s not just for workers but our families and communities as well. We are always involved in many different charities. I look at it as a family not an organization.”
